You just made me really want Painter! :giggle:
It seems like they have nice tools there. -sigh-

Nice walk-through, though. :)

So, you actually keep your sketch and paint over it? Did I read that right?

I tend to paint underneath it and then delete it.

Yeah, I don't really like painting under sketches. As I said, it confuses me, because having the sketch layered on top of my drawing makes some parts seem darker than they are, gives the impression that I have definition where I don't (e.g. the jawline), and I usually end up tracing them onto the layer beneath anyways. It's much easier for me to use them as sort of a preliminary shading, and go from there. :)
This is awesome! I love how you painted them, Lily looks beautiful and Snape looks so perfect. This tutorial is really useful and easy to understand so I'm definately going to save it, thank you!

That's awesome.. For some reason i can never quite get the hang of big time art programs.. It's all too confusing for me, even with tutorials.. So i stick to my good ole roots: MS PAINT! YEAH! I do almost 95% of all my computer colorings with Paint... Maybe that's the problem, i'm too used to lame programs to try tougher ones.. :/

But whatev.. If i ever get Photoshop and get the hang of it, i'll make sure to come back to this.. :D
I have no idea how to "paint" but if I get the urge to spend 7 hours trying to figure out how, this will be very helpful. xD

I favourited becuase it's just such a well explained tutorial!
If I ever work out how to paint properly, I'll definitely be using this tutorial first.
:)
when you say you "drop all layers," do you mean you hide them or delete them?

side by side, dead & broken.
In Painter, it flattens the image, merging all layers into the background one. If you're in Photoshop, you can choose to merge layers with each other without having them dropped to the background, which can be really useful...
